Vietnam – Russia International Eye Hospital was established on April 12, 2007 under the Ophthalmology Cooperation Program between Vietnam and the Russian Federation, signed by the Ministries of Health of both countries. From this solid foundation, the hospital quickly affirmed its position in ophthalmology, becoming a trusted destination for thousands of patients each year.

With professional support from MNTK Fyodorov—the world’s largest ophthalmology center—experienced Russian and Vietnamese doctors have directly examined and treated patients here. The hospital continuously invests in advanced technologies imported from Europe, builds modern facilities, and applies standardized medical protocols to deliver optimal solutions for each patient.

Guided by the motto “European Standards – Leading Quality,” Vietnam – Russia Eye Hospital has achieved many notable milestones. In particular, on January 3, 2023, the hospital was honored by Zeiss Group with the SMILE Awards Southeast Asia, becoming the provider with the highest number of ReLEx SMILE procedures in Southeast Asia, totaling 25,000 cases. History of Formation

• 2007 – Establishment of Vietnam – Russia International Eye Hospital under the Vietnam–Russian Federation Ophthalmology Cooperation Program (signed by both Ministries of Health), inaugurating the first task in the 2007–2009 cooperation phase.
• 2011 – Prof. Bikbov Mukharat (Ufa Eye Research Institute, Russian Federation) transferred Crosslinking technology to the hospital.
• 2012 – Launch of the charitable program “Lasik 007”: large-scale examinations and LASIK surgeries for refractive errors (myopia, hyperopia, astigmatism, anisometropia).
• 2016 – Ho Chi Minh City branch officially put into operation.
• 2017 – Awarded the title “Outstanding Enterprise of the Ho Chi Minh Era” and the KNC “Ho Chi Minh” honor by President Tran Dai Quang.
• 2018 – A breakthrough year: strengthened social programs, free examinations and treatments; continuously upgraded equipment and treatment technologies.
• 2019 – Participation in the 2nd Ho Chi Minh City Community Health Day, vision screening for >4,000 people; launch of the program “Elevating Children’s Vision” in partnership with kindergartens.
• 2021 – Joint efforts against COVID-19: patient support, testing, and community disease control.
• 2022 – Recognized as the provider with the most ReLEx SMILE procedures in Southeast Asia.
• 01/2023 – Manufacturer of the VisuMax 500 (Zeiss) presented the Top 1 Southeast Asia / SMILE Awards Southeast Asia certificate to Vietnam – Russia International Eye Hospital, Ho Chi Minh City.
