T.D EYE OPEN PICKLEBALL TOURNAMENT REGULATIONS I-2025
I. COMPETITION CATEGORIES & ELIGIBILITY
1. Competition Categories:
– Men’s Doubles (Combined Rating 5.0)
– Mixed Doubles (Combined Rating 4.5)
2 Player Rating Requirements:
The tournament implements player rating limits. In a team, an individual player’s rating must not exceed 3.0 (Men’s Doubles) and not exceed 2.7 (Mixed Doubles).
The combined rating of the two players in a team must not exceed 5.0 (Men’s Doubles) and not exceed 4.5 (Mixed Doubles).
The Organizing Committee (OC) reserves the right to verify and reject players who register with an incorrect rating.
Eligibility: All players who commit to registering accurately for the chosen category and rating level as specified in the regulations.
II. RULES AND EQUIPMENT
Applicable Rules: The official USA Pickleball (USAPA) Rulebook, 2025 edition, will be applied.
Official Ball: The official ball for the tournament is the Facolos F-PRO. Match balls will be provided by the Organizing Committee (OC).
III. MATCH FORMAT
Group Stage:
Teams will be divided into groups and compete in a round-robin format (Win 1 point, Loss 0 points).
Format: Matches consist of 1 set to 11 points (courts are switched when one team reaches 6 points). The first team to reach 11 points wins (winning by a 2-point margin is not applied).
The top 2 teams with the best records from each group will advance to the Knock-out Stage.
Tie-Breaker Order for Group Ranking:
In case of a tie in points, the ranking will be determined based on the following:
– Head-to-head results (only applies when two teams are tied).
– Point differential (Points Won / Points Lost ratio) (applies when three or more teams are tied, or when two tied teams have not played each other).
– Higher total points won.
– Fewer total points lost.
– Lucky draw.
Knock-out Stage:
Round of 16 and Quarter-finals: Matches consist of 1 set to 15 points (courts are switched at 8 points), winning by a 2-point margin is not applied.
Semi-finals & Finals: Matches consist of 1 set to 15 points (courts are switched at 8 points), winning by a 2-point margin is not applied.
The knock-out draw bracket will be publicly announced by the OC after the Group Stage concludes.
Time-out: Each team is entitled to one (01) 60-second Time-out per match and one (01) 10-minute Medical Time-out per match.
IV. REFEREES AND COMPLAINTS
Referees: All matches, from the Group Stage to the Finals, will be managed by an Official Referee appointed by the OC.
Complaints/Appeals:
– Only players officially competing on the court have the right to file an appeal.
– Complaints regarding technical issues or rules: Must be raised immediately at the time the situation occurs.
– Complaints regarding player ratings: All appeals regarding player ratings will only be resolved before the draw for the group stage.
– The decision of the Referee Team and the OC is the final decision.
V. REQUIREMENTS FOR PLAYERS
Entry Fee: Players must complete the payment of the entry fee before the draw for the group stage.
Punctuality: Players must be present for roll call by 07:30 AM on the competition day. Matches will start at 08:00 AM. Any player absent for more than 10 minutes after their name is called by the OC will be handed a forfeit loss (0-11).
Health: Players are responsible for ensuring their own health throughout the competition. The OC is not responsible for any injuries or health issues sustained by the players.
Player Substitution: Substitution of players is not permitted in any circumstance once the tournament has officially begun. All changes to players must be reported to and approved by the OC before the group stage draw.
VI. PRIZE STRUCTURE
First Place: [Cup, Sponsor Gifts + Prize Money]
Second Place: [Silver Medal, Sponsor Gifts + Prize Money]
Joint Third Place: [Bronze Medal, Sponsor Gifts + Prize Money]
VII. ENFORCEMENT CLAUSES
Image Rights: The OC reserves the full right to use images, videos, and data related to players and matches for media and tournament promotion purposes without requiring any additional compensation.
Fee Refund: After the draw for the group stage, the OC will not issue a refund of the entry fee under any circumstances.
Force Majeure: In the event of adverse weather (rain) or other unforeseen incidents, the OC reserves the right to change the match format, competition schedule, or suspend the tournament. The OC’s decision will be communicated to the players as soon as possible.
Commitment: Registration and payment of the fee signify the players’ agreement to comply with the entire tournament regulations.
